Miguel de Icaza


Miguel de IcazaWas born in Mexico D.F. Mexico in 1973. Is the formal Chief of Technology at Novell Ximian Services and one of the most important global leaders in the free software and open source communities. Among his most significant software projects there are the Gnome and Mono Project.

Miguel de Icaza starts in 1997 GNOME projects, at the present GNOME involves hundreds of developers around the world. GNOME at the moment is a desktop graphic interface that includes a set of developer utilities, files manager, desktop manager, help utilities, GNOME also includes applications as spread sheet, word processing, web browsers, image editors and music play. Recognition to GNOME projects is a must. There are thousands of people around the world whose benefits of access to the best technologies. GNOME is already in hundreds of thousands of personal computers, and in all the schools under the administration of the local governments of Junta de Extremadura y Junta de Andalucía in Spain.

MONO project stars in 2000, this free software project under Ximian management is run to provide free software developers utilities to build .NET applications running on Linux o Unix operating systems.
